How do we define love? Is marriage for you? Explore these questions with readings from Soren Kierkegaard and Bell Hooks.

03 | Suffering, Pleasure and Life

Should life be optimized for pleasure? How do we cope with suffering? Step into the world of Buddhism, and explore the roots of hedonism.

04 | Technology, Time and Freedom

What's at the heart of attention-mining tech, and how do we live with it? Explore fresh ideas from Shoshana Zuboff and Niel Postman.

05 | Surviving The Daily Grind

How do we tackle the daily grind of adulting? Learn about lightness from Milan Kundera, and tweak default settings with David Foster Wallace.

We'll get together to discuss the reading of the week and your takeaways from it.

Sunday Reading Sessions

12:00 PM - 2:00 PM IST
We'll read together and clear our doubts. This session will be more informal and offer a space to get to know your peers better.

What will be the time commitment required?

This workshop is designed for working professionals. As long as you can attend live sessions every Tuesday evening and spend some time reading on weekends, you'll do just fine.

Is there an age barrier to the workshop?

The cohort will be largely people in their 20s, but the themes we'll discuss are timeless, so there's no age barrier!

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes! If you really cannot afford the fee, do write to me at nishant@thebalcony.in with what you'd like the fee to be. I'll try my best to accommodate you.
